Introduction
GB/T 36101-2018: Overview of the evaluation standard for interference light of LED display screens
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009, and mainly regulates the classification and evaluation requirements of interference light of LED display screens at night.
Background and significance of standard formulation
LED display screens are widely used in advertising, traffic guidance and other fields, and the interference light problem they bring is becoming increasingly prominent. This standard sets limit requirements to ensure that LED display screens will not cause discomfort or visual function degradation to residents and motor vehicle drivers.
Classification and evaluation indicators of interference light
| Classification of interference light | Affected objects | Main evaluation indicators |
|---|---|---|
| Interference light to residents | People in residential areas, hospitals and other areas | Vertical illuminance (lux) and display brightness (cd/m²) |
| Interference light to motor vehicle drivers | Motor vehicle drivers | Threshold increment (%) |
| Interference light to astronomical observers and pedestrians | Observatory surroundings, pedestrians, etc. | Environmental brightness area division (E1-E4) |
Environmental brightness zoning and limit requirements
According to Table 1, the environmental brightness area is divided into four categories: no lighting area (E1), low brightness area (E2), medium brightness area (E3) and high brightness area (E4). The brightness limit of LED display screens in each category is shown in Table 2.
Practical application case analysis
For example, in residential areas (E2 areas), the brightness limit of full-color or multi-color LED display screens is 200 cd/m². During the lights-out period, the vertical illuminance should be controlled within ≤5 lux.
Functional characteristics requirements of LED display screens
- Automatic adjustment of brightness and chromaticity function
- Control brightness and screen switching speed during lights-out period
- Ability to respond to changes in ambient lighting
Implementation suggestions and technology evolution analysis
To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended that:
- Manufacturers need to have built-in brightness and chromaticity adjustment functions
- Display users should regularly monitor parameter values
- Relevant departments should strengthen law enforcement inspections
Implementation suggestions
In actual applications, it is recommended that relevant units:
- Refer to Table 1 and Table 2 for classification management
- Use intelligent control technology to improve adjustment accuracy
- Establish a long-term monitoring mechanism to ensure compliance
