Grass carp is one of the important freshwater aquaculture fish in my country. It has a long growth cycle and a wide range of food habits, and its demand for compound feed has significant stage characteristics. The formulation of GB/T 36205—2018 standard is based on the needs of modern fishery development, combined with the progress of feed formulation technology and actual breeding experience at home and abroad.

This standard replaces the original SC/T 1077 "General Technical Requirements for Fishery Formula Feed", and further refines the nutritional requirements and quality indicators of grass carp at different growth stages. By introducing advanced testing methods (such as GB/T 6432 crude protein determination method, GB/T 6438 crude ash determination method), the scientificity and reliability of feed products are ensured.

It can be seen from the table that the classification of grass carp compound feed strictly follows the characteristics of its growth cycle. For example, fry feed is suitable for young fish weighing less than 10 grams, while late-stage feed is suitable for mature fish weighing more than 1500 grams.

As can be seen from the table, the crude protein content shows a downward trend at different stages, which is closely related to the changes in the growth and metabolic needs of grass carp. For example, the crude protein demand is higher in the fry and fingerling stages (32.0% and 29.0%, respectively), while it is reduced to 20.0% in the late adult stage to adapt to the enhanced digestive capacity and adjustment of nutritional needs.
