Introduction
Interpretation of the National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 36297—2018
Background of Standard Formulation and Analysis of Technology Evolution
With the rapid development of remote sensing technology, the importance of optical remote sensing payloads in the fields of aerospace and aviation has become increasingly prominent. However, due to the differences in the design objectives and application fields of different payloads, there are inconsistencies in the understanding and measurement of performance indicators, which seriously affects data sharing and the joint use of multi-source remote sensing data.
This standard was proposed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Remote Sensing Technology Standardization. It aims to establish a unified field test and evaluation system for optical remote sensing payloads. By screening performance indicators that are directly related to the quality of remote sensing data, it provides a technical reference for the development and application of new optical remote sensing payloads.
Comparison of standard frameworks
| Dimensions | Spatial geometric performance | Radiance performance | Spectral performance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Key indicators | Ground sampling distance (GSD), Instantaneous field of view (IFOV) | Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), Radiance resolution | Channel cutoff wavelength, Spectral calibration error |
| Calculation formula example | $$ GSD = 2 \times \arctan(d/H) $$ | $$ SNR = 20 \log(D_m / D_s) $$ | $$ \Delta\lambda = \lambda_{max} - \lambda_{min} $$ |
Explanation of professional terms and practical application cases
Modulation Transfer Function (MTF): Indicates the signal processing capability of the remote sensor for different spatial frequencies. In high-resolution remote sensing images, MTF is an important indicator for evaluating image clarity.
Case: The MTF test results of a satellite optical payload show that it maintains a high value below the Nyquist frequency, indicating that it has excellent anti-geometric distortion capabilities.
