Core Interpretation of the Standard

This standard specifies the method for determining the sulfur content in ferroboron using the infrared absorption sulfur analyzer. The technical points are as follows:


Principle of the Method

The sample is burned at high frequency in an oxygen flow, and the generated SO2 gas absorbs infrared energy of a specific wavelength when passing through the infrared detector. The absorption intensity is proportional to the sulfur concentration. The calculation formula is: w(S)=k×ΔE (k is the correction factor, ΔE is the energy change value).

The actual case shows that when the sulfur content is 0.018%, the relative standard deviation of the measurement results of 8 laboratories is RSD≤5.8%.
