Technical principles and operation procedures
Determination principle:The hydrogen exchange capacity of the cation exchange resin is calculated by the titration reaction of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. The chemical reaction formula is: HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H₂O.
- Sample preparation:Sampling is carried out according to GB/T 5475, and the resin sample needs to be washed with deionized water until neutral.
- Determination of hydrogen group content of the original sample:Add hydrochloric acid solution, and calculate the volume of sodium hydroxide consumed V₁ and the blank test volume V₀ by titration.
- Determination of hydrogen group content after transformation:Use hydrochloric acid for regeneration treatment, then titrate with sodium hydroxide, and record the volume V₂.
- Calculation formula:δH = [(V₁ - V₀)/(V₂ - V₀)] × 100%
Practical application case analysis
A water treatment company adopted the GB/T 36769-2018 standard to determine the regeneration transformation rate of hydrogen-type strong acid cation exchange resin. Through the titration experiment, the following data were obtained:
- V₁ = 5.2 mL
- V₀ = 0.3 mL
- V₂ = 5.8 mL
- Calculation results: δH = [(5.2 - 0.3)/(5.8 - 0.3)] × 100% ≈ 76.47%
Conclusion: The regeneration conversion rate of the resin reached 76.47%, which meets the requirements of the industry standard and proves that it has good regeneration performance.
