Explanation of professional terms and practical application cases
Fumigation Treatment:Use gaseous chemical agents to kill or eliminate harmful organisms in goods. In the quarantine of bamboo products, methyl bromide and sulfuryl fluoride are often used as fumigants.
Vapor Heat Treatment:Kill pests and their eggs in bamboo products through high-temperature steam. Suitable for deep disinfection of bamboo products.
Irradiation Treatment:Use ionizing radiation technology to destroy the reproductive capacity of pests or directly kill pests. The recommended dose is 86Gy, which can effectively control bamboo green tiger longhorn beetles.
Implementation Recommendations
- Methyl bromide fumigation:Sulfuryl fluoride is preferred as an alternative, especially under the same conditions. Wear a gas mask and protective clothing during operation to ensure good ventilation.
- Steaming and heat treatment:It is recommended to be carried out in an approved treatment agency to ensure that the equipment meets national standards. The temperature probe and humidity monitor need to be calibrated before operation.
- Irradiation treatment:It must be carried out in a registered and approved irradiation device and operate strictly in accordance with the dosage requirements. It is recommended to calibrate the radiation measuring instrument regularly.
