The formulation of the standard for black carp compound feed is aimed at regulating the development of black carp farming and ensuring the quality and safety of feed. The standard was proposed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Feed Industry and issued in 2018.

Processing quality indicators

According to Table 2, the processing quality indicators include mixing uniformity, moisture, powder content and stability in water. Among them:

• Mixing uniformity (coefficient of variation): 7.0%
• Moisture content: 12.0% for crushed feed, 12.0% for pellet feed, and 11.0% for extruded feed.
• Powder content: 5.0% for crushed feed, 1.0% for pellet feed, and 0.5% for extruded feed.

For example, in the fry stage, the selection of compound feed with a crude protein content of 31.0~41.0% can help improve the growth rate and survival rate of young fish. In the adult fish stage, the selection of feed with a crude protein content of 27.0~35.0% can maintain the healthy growth of fish and reduce bait waste.
