GB/T 38228—2019 Standard Interpretation
1. Standard Overview
This standard specifies the classification, grading, technical requirements, test methods, labeling and packaging of self-contained closed-circuit oxygen breathing apparatus for escape (hereinafter referred to as respirators). It is applicable to respirators for escape from workplaces and public places (including escape from hazardous chemical accidents), but not to respirators for escape from diving operations.

3. Technical requirements
The design, materials, performance and other aspects of the respirator must meet strict technical indicators. For example:
- Air tightness of portable device: water column pressure drop value within 15 seconds ≤80Pa.
- Mass of the whole machine: ≤5kg.
- Protection time: under rated conditions, the working time ≥3 times of the rated protection time.
