Analysis of the core content of the standard

This standard systematically specifies the corrosion evaluation system of disinfectants on five types of metal materials, including carbon steel and stainless steel, and innovatively subdivides the disinfection methods into:

Key technical points

1. Standardized sample treatment

Metal samples need to be polished on both sides with 120# water sandpaper and use special chemical cleaning agents: hydrochloric acid solution (1.19g/cm³) for copper sheets and nitric acid solution (1.42g/cm³) for aluminum sheets. The weighing accuracy after treatment is 0.1mg.

2. Corrosion rate calculation

Use the modified formula: R=8.76×10⁷×(m-mt-mk)/(S×T×D), where mk is the weight loss value of the control group, effectively eliminating the interference of environmental factors.


Implementation and application guide

Case: In the corrosion detection of disinfection equipment in a hospital, after 304 stainless steel was soaked in chlorine-containing disinfectant for 72 hours, the corrosion rate was measured to be 0.0087mm/a, which was judged as basically non-corrosive according to the standard.

Special precautions:

  • Oxidizing disinfectants require daily replacement of test liquid
  • Aerosol tests require synchronous control of temperature and humidity (20-25℃, 70-80%RH)
  • Parallel sample deviation >10% requires retest
