GB/T38925-2020 systematically standardizes the sorting quality system of waste composite packaging for the first time, defines three main types of packaging materials: paper-based (≤5% moisture), plastic-based (≤3% moisture), and metal-based (≤3% moisture), and establishes a three-level quality grading system.

Sorting process specifications

The standard requires the use of automated equipment such as magnetic sorting and photoelectric sorting. A typical case shows that Hangzhou Fulun Ecological Technology has increased the separation purity of aluminum-plastic composite packaging to 98.7% through a gravity sorting system.

Safety protection: Sorting personnel must be equipped with dust masks and labor protection gloves, and wastewater treatment must comply with GB8978 emission standards.


Recommendations for the implementation of the standard

  1. Establish a raw material traceability system to distinguish between production waste and post-consumer waste
  2. Preferentially use X-ray fluorescence spectrometer to detect heavy metal residues
  3. Grade 3 products should be pre-processed by crushing and cleaning
