Introduction
Standard Overview
GB/T38932-2020 specifies the terminology definitions of key equipment such as turbine coolers and heat exchangers of aircraft environmental control systems, including six major categories of technical parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow, and is applicable to the design and acceptance of environmental control systems for military/civil aircraft.
Core Terminology System
| Category | Key Terms | Definition Points |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure Parameters | Total Pressure, Dynamic Pressure, Verification Pressure | Total Pressure = Static Pressure + Dynamic Pressure; Verification Pressure must meet the requirement of no permanent deformation |
| Temperature Parameters | Total Temperature, Dew Point Temperature, Logarithmic Mean Temperature Difference | Total Temperature includes kinetic energy conversion heat; Logarithmic Temperature Difference is used for heat exchanger design |
| System Composition | Reverse Boost Refrigeration System, Integrated Digital Pressure Regulator | Clearly define the structural differences between three-wheel and four-wheel turbo coolers; digital regulator integrates pressure/temperature control |
Key technical indicators
Turbine cooler performance
The standard defines 12 key indicators such as circumferential efficiency(2.3.4.15) and reaction degree(2.3.4.3):
- Circumferential efficiency ≥ 75% (three-wheel structure)
- Critical speed needs to avoid the operating speed range by more than 15%
- The expansion ratio is 2.5-4.0 for the best efficiency range
Heat exchanger parameters
The standard adopts the dual-dimensional evaluation of heat transfer unit NTU (2.4.2.15) and compactness factor (2.4.2.22):
- Primary heat exchanger NTU ≥ 3.5
- Compactness factor ≥ 500m²/m³ (plate-fin structure)
Implementation suggestions
- During the design phase, the reference scenarios of absolute pressure (2.1.1.15) and gauge pressure (2.1.1.16) should be strictly distinguished
- The compensation loss assessment of the environmental control system shall include three items: mass, resistance and air loss (2.2.3.1)
- It is recommended to adopt the class=instrument>Electronic-pneumatic pressure regulator(2.5.1.5) as the first choice for the new generation of models
