Introduction
Standard Overview and Development Background
GB/T39267-2020 is China's first national terminology standard specifically for the Beidou Satellite Navigation System (BDS). It was proposed by the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission and is under the jurisdiction of the National Beidou Satellite Navigation Standardization Technical Committee. The standard was released on November 19, 2020 and officially implemented on June 1, 2021.
| Technical field | Number of terms | Core concepts |
|---|---|---|
| General basic terms | 46 | Navigation system classification, space-time benchmark, signal system |
| Engineering construction terms | 112 | Constellation design, satellite payload, ground control system |
| Application terms | 143 | Service performance, terminal equipment, positioning algorithm |
Analysis of the core terminology system
1. System architecture terminology
BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) is clearly defined as "a global satellite navigation system developed, built and managed by China", with three major components:
- Space segment: a hybrid constellation consisting of three types of orbital satellites: MEO, IGSO and GEO
- Ground segment: an operation and control network consisting of master control stations, injection stations and monitoring stations
- User segment: terminal equipment supporting both RNSS and RDSS modes
2. Space-time reference terminology
Beidou Time (BDT) uses the International Atomic Time (IDT) seconds length, with the starting epoch being 00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 2006, and is expressed by week count (0-8191) and week seconds (0-604799). Compared with other system time standards:
| System | Time Standard | Starting Epoch | Leap Second Processing |
|---|---|---|---|
| BDS | BDT | UTC2006 | Continuous Time |
| GPS | GPST | UTC1980 | Continuous Time |
| GLONASS | GLONASST | UTC1996 | Discontinuous |
Key Technical Indicators
1. Accuracy Indicators
- SISaccuracy: URE≤2.5m (global service)
- Positioning accuracy: horizontal 10cm (PPP service), vertical 15cm (PPP service)
- Timing accuracy: 20ns (one-way), 10ns (two-way)
2. Service Performance Indicators
| Indicator Type | Definition | BDS-3 Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Percentage of Service Available Time | >99% |
| Continuity | Probability of Uninterrupted Service | 1×10-4/h |
| Integrity | Fault alarm capability | 6-second alarm |
Implementation recommendations
- Term application specifications: Strictly distinguish between Precise point positioning (PPP) and standard positioning services in technical documents
- Equipment development: Multi-system receivers should support the conversion between BDCS coordinate system and ITRF framework
- Test verification: Establish a BeiDou user equipment test system in accordance with Article 5.5.14 of the standard
This standard maintains technical coordination with international standards such as ISO 19134:2007 "Geographic Information - Location-based Services" and RTCA DO-229D, reflecting the global compatibility and interoperability of the BeiDou system.
