GB/T 394分为两个部分，本部分为GB/T 394.2《酒精通用分析方法》。
本部分代替GB/T 394.2-1994《酒精通用试验方法》。
GB/T 394的本部分规定了食用酒精和工业酒精产品的分析方法。
本部分适用于各类酒精产品的检测。
本部分与GB/T 394.2-1994相比主要变化如下：
―――标准名称改为酒精通用分析方法；
―――修改、删减、合并了总则章节的内容，由14项条款调整为6项条款。

This part of GB/T 394 specifies the analysis method of ethanol for edible and industrial use.
This part is applicable to the inspection of various ethanol products.
