This standard replaces the original scattered industry naming rules and achieves three major breakthroughs:
- Establish a unified coding system covering 236 types of meteorological instruments
- Introduce supplementary codes for intelligent equipment (such as Z2 for Internet of Things function)
- Add new equipment categories such as meteorological drones
Implementation suggestions
1. During the development phase of new instruments, the classification path should be determined by referring to Appendix A
2. Comprehensive measuring instruments are classified according to their dominant functions (such as DZD series)
3. The modification number needs to be incremented after the technical change review
