Introduction
Interpretation of the core content of the standard
GB/T40481-2021 is an important standard in the field of skateboard pallets in my country. It adopts the ISO12776:2008 international standard and optimizes the technical requirements of skateboard pallets for intermodal scenarios. The standard mainly regulates four types of structural types: single-wing, double-wing (adjacent/opposite), three-wing and four-wing skateboard pallets. The corner cut design includes four typical solutions: 90°, oblique, narrow and long, and punching.

Key requirements for dimensions and performance
Dimension tolerance system:The standard stipulates that the basic dimensions of the slide tray should match the unit cargo, the length tolerance is ±7mm, and the width is controlled within the range of not less than 10mm of the cargo size and not more than 50mm. The width of the wing is strictly limited to the range of 60-105mm to ensure compatibility with the push-pull device.
Tensile strength grading: It is divided into four grades according to the maximum load mass (500-2000kg), and the minimum tensile strength at the marked line is required to increase from 1.0kN/m to 4.0kN/m. Plastic materials are tested according to GB/T1040.1, and paper-based materials are tested according to GB/T12914.
Implementation suggestions
- Selection and matching: Give priority to the wing plate type that is compatible with existing logistics equipment (such as forklift push-pull devices). The four-wing plate structure is suitable for high turnover scenarios
- Environmental adaptation: In high humidity environments, moisture-proof corrugated cardboard or plastic materials skateboard pallets
- Quality control: Focus on monitoring the tensile strength and thickness indicators at the scribe line. The thickness of the kraft paper material must not be less than 0.6mm
Standard evolution analysis
Compared with the 2008 version of ISO standard, this standard has three major improvements: 1) Adding unit cargo size adaptation notes, citing GB/T15233 to provide localized solutions; 2) Strengthening test operability, refining the dimensional inspection method and tensile strength test process; 3) Supplementing friction characteristics requirements, clarifying the different test standards for paper-based and plastic materials (GB/T22895 and GB/T10006). These improvements are more in line with the actual use needs of my country's logistics equipment.
