Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

Life cycle stageCore requirementsKey technical indicators
Alarm principles (A)Establish target definition, priority standards, HMI design specificationsAlarm classification ≥ Level 3
Rationalization (C)Alarm necessity verification, set value determination, priority allocationHigh-frequency alarm ratio <5%
Detailed design (D)Basic alarm attribute configuration, HMI status indicationDead zone setting 0.5-2% of the range

Key technical requirements

Alarm priority allocation specifications

The standard recommends a 3-4 level priority system:

  • High priority (about 5%): involving safety interlocks, environmental protection limits, etc.
  • Medium priority (about 15%): deviations from key process parameters
  • Low priority (about 80%): general monitoring parameters

Implementation points

For the alarm management of the Safety Instrumented System (SIS), special attention should be paid to the following:

  1. Independent HMI interface requirements
  2. Changes must pass safety verification (SIL)
  3. Test cycle does not exceed 12 months

Performance monitoring indicators

Average alarm rate<10/hour/operator
Peak alarm rate≤10 within 10 minutes
Old alarms≤5 alarms for >24 hours
