Introduction
In-depth interpretation of GB/T 4182-2017 molybdenum wire standard
Background of standard revision and analysis of technological evolution
Compared with the old version GB/T 4182-2003, GB/T 4182-2017 mainly adds the classification and grade extension of molybdenum wire (MoLa, MoY, MoK) and performance requirements. These improvements reflect the expansion of molybdenum wire applications in high-tech fields, especially the performance improvement needs in areas such as online cutting, spraying, and heating elements.
The new standard also introduces more stringent hot brittleness performance requirements and test methods to ensure stability in high temperature environments.
| Standard dimensions | Old version GB/T 4182—2003 | New version GB/T 4182—2017 |
|---|---|---|
| Grade classification | Mo1 | Mo1, MoLa, MoY, MoK |
| Diameter range | 1~800 μm | 1~5000 μm |
| Performance requirements | Basic mechanical properties | New requirements for hot brittleness and room temperature tensile strength |
Analysis of molybdenum wire grades and application scenarios
According to GB/T 4182-2017, molybdenum wire is divided into four grades (Mo1, MoLa, MoY, MoK), suitable for different fields:
- Mo1: widely used in lighting core wires, vacuum electronic devices, etc.
- MoLa: suitable for high-performance spraying and heating elements.
- MoY: mainly used for molybdenum foil strips and high-temperature components.
- MoK: suitable for printer needles and high-temperature environments.
Room temperature mechanical properties and application cases
The new version of the standard puts forward more stringent requirements on room temperature mechanical properties, which are specifically reflected in: the improvement of tensile strength and elongation indicators. For example:
- Molybdenum wire for wire cutting: tensile strength requirement ≥2100 MPa (d≤130 μm). Suitable for high-precision electronic device manufacturing.
- Molybdenum wire for spraying: tensile strength ≥850 MPa, elongation ≥3%. Suitable for high-temperature coating process.
Implementation suggestions and future prospects
To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended that:
- Enterprises should establish a complete testing system and produce in strict accordance with the standard requirements.
- Strengthen personnel training, especially the understanding of newly introduced grades and performance indicators.
- In the future, as the application of molybdenum wire in the field of new energy expands, it is recommended to further study its performance optimization under high temperature and complex environments.
