Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, technical requirements, inspection items and methods, acceptance rules, transportation and quality certificates of scrap iron and steel. This standard applies to smelting scrap iron and steel used as steelmaking furnace charge or raw material in steelmaking, ironmaking, casting and ferroalloy smelting, as well as general non-smelting scrap iron and steel.
