Introduction

Interpretation of GB/T 43489-2023 National Standard of the People's Republic of China

1. Standard Overview

This standard specifies in detail the test method of sintered NdFeB permanent magnets under constant damp heat conditions, aiming to evaluate their corrosion resistance and reliability in high temperature and high humidity environments. It is suitable for NdFeB samples with a coating and for the measurement of irreversible flux loss in an open circuit state.

2. Comparison of test types and conditions

Test type Temperature range (℃) Relative humidity (%) Absolute vapor pressure (MPa) Duration (h) Applicable covering layer
Ordinary steady-state damp heat test 60, 85 90, 85 - 4, 48 Phosphate film, zirconium film, oxide film
HAST test 85 85 - 168 composite layer, CuNi composite layer
PCT test 120-135 95-100 0.26-0.20 48, 96 epoxy composite layer, Al type, Sn type

3. Test equipment and water requirements

Test equipment: It is necessary to meet the precise control of temperature and humidity to prevent the sample from being corroded by the equipment materials. The ordinary constant humidity heat box allows a temperature deviation of ±1.5℃ and a humidity deviation of ±5%RH.

Test water:Distilled water or deionized water must be used. The resistivity of water used in PCT test should be ≥1 MΩ·cm. Avoid recycling to prevent contamination.

4. Sample processing and testing

  • The sample substrate complies with GB/T13560, and the cover layer complies with GB/T34491.
  • Perform an appearance quality inspection before the test and take photos to record the surface state.
  • Avoid sample condensation in ordinary constant humidity and heat tests, while condensation is required in PCT tests.
  • Corrosion classification is based on Table 2, with the most serious sample in the same batch as the result indicator.

5. Implementation advice

Test preparation:Ensure equipment calibration, use a clean water source without impurities, and handle samples according to specifications to avoid direct contact.

Process control:Strictly follow the temperature and humidity parameters, record the temperature rise and fall curves, and pay special attention to the observation and control of condensation in HAST and PCT tests.

Result analysis:Evaluate the sample performance according to the corrosion state classification table, measure the irreversible loss of magnetic flux when necessary, and perform numerical rounding according to GB/T8170.
