Introduction
Analysis of the core technical requirements of the standard
GB/T 43599-2023 standard systematically regulates the full life cycle test system of mechanical cementing plugs, focusing on their functional reliability under complex downhole working conditions. The standard innovatively divides the test items into two categories: basic performance (such as 5.1 penetration pressure test) and working condition simulation (such as 5.6 passing ability test).
Take underwater release plugs as an example. Its unique back pressure bearing capacity test requires simulating the 3,000-meter water pressure environment on the seabed. The test device needs to be equipped with a dual pressurization system (upper loading + lower back pressure), which is significantly different from the test of conventional land-based plugs.
Comparison of key test methods
| Test items | Test principle | Core parameters | Equipment requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5.2 Sealing pressure test | Simulated pressure bearing state after sealing | Pressure drop ≤3% after 15min of pressure maintenance | Class 0.5 pressure instrument |
| 5.7 Wear resistance test | Cyclic friction mass loss | △m≤0.15%/m | Rotating roller wear machine |
| 5.9 Anti-rotation ability test | Torque loading test | ≥800N·m | Level 2 torque meter |
Technology evolution and implementation suggestions
Compared with the old version of SY/T 7084, this standard adds 5.3 rollover pressure test and 5.8 compression deformation test, reflecting the industry's attention to the working conditions of abnormal seating and long-term storage of rubber plugs. Notes for implementation:
- For graded cementing plugs, 5.1 penetration test and 5.6 passing ability test must be performed simultaneously
- High temperature conditions (>120℃) test requires the use of synthetic oil medium with a flash point ≥140℃
- For wear resistance test, the actual string circulation method is preferred instead of the material test method
Typical test device configuration
| Subsystem | Technical requirements | Standard basis |
|---|---|---|
| Test string | ≥10m casing + coupling combination | GB/T 29166 |
| Pressure system | Displacement ≥15L/s adjustable | Clause 4.3.2.2 |
| Measurement system | Temperature accuracy ±1℃ | Clause 4.3.3.2 |
