Introduction
1. Background and significance of standard formulation
With the increasing intensity of development and utilization of forest resources in my country, the problem of degraded forests has become increasingly prominent. GB/T 44351-2024 "Technical Specification for Restoration of Degraded Forests" came into being, aiming to provide systematic guidance for the scientific restoration of degraded forests, promote the positive succession of forest ecosystems, and improve forest quality.
2. Comparison of standard frameworks
| Standard content | Technical requirements | Scope of implementation | Key indicators |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identification of degraded forests | Comprehensive consideration of indicators such as disaster impact, canopy density and natural regeneration capacity | Applicable to timber forests and protective forests across the country | Dead wood ratio ≥ 20% or canopy density ≤ 0.4 |
| Degradation grade classification | Standard for distinguishing general degradation from severe degradation | Based on forest stand structure and ecological function assessment | Comparative analysis of target forest phase characteristics and current status |
| Selection of restoration measures | Including various technical means such as replanting and reseeding, felling and restoration | Targeting different degradation types and regional characteristics | Comparison of canopy density after restoration with target value |
3. Implementation suggestions and case analysis
Case: Restoration practice of shelterbelt degradation in a certain area
Due to the continuous over-mature forest stage and the influence of pests and diseases, the protective function of the area has declined significantly. According to the standard requirements, the restoration is carried out by combining clear-cutting and replanting.
Implementation steps:
- Small group survey and current situation analysis
- Determine the target forest phase and restoration measures
- Operation design and construction organization
- Quality monitoring and file management
