Introduction

1. Background and significance of the standard

GB/T 44579-2024 "Thermoplastic manifolds" standard specifies material selection, design requirements and test methods for manifolds in building hot and cold water, drinking water, heating/cooling systems. The standard aims to improve product quality and ensure the safety and reliability of the system.


2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard dimensions Material requirements Design specifications Test methods
Material selection PVC-U, PE, PP, etc. must comply with relevant standard requirements. The wall thickness of the main pipe needs to be reinforced, and the connection between the branch pipe and the main pipe should be smoothly transitioned. Hydrostatic strength test, melt mass flow rate change rate determination.
Design requirements The material must meet the standards of the corresponding pipeline system. Branch spacing and flow cross-sectional area are clearly specified. Appearance, size, sealing and other tests.
Performance indicators The physical and mechanical properties of the material must meet the standards. Hydraulic balance performance calculation formula is provided. Thermal cycle test, pull-out resistance test, etc.

Actual application case: Selection of manifolds for hot water systems

When selecting manifolds for hot water systems, special attention should be paid to their high temperature resistance. For example, the manifold made of PE-RT material can still maintain good hydrostatic strength and hydraulic balance performance at 95°C.
