Introduction

Interpretation of the core content of the standard

This standard specifies the technical indicators of pipes and fittings made of PE100 grade and above mixed materials for special working conditions of ships. Compared with the IMO A.753(18) international standard, new ship-specific test requirements such as resistance to external pressure and flame spread are added.

Typical application scenario

The ballast water system of a cruise ship uses PE100 SDR11 pipes. The maximum working pressure at 50℃ is 0.81MPa as determined by the temperature-pressure conversion table in Appendix A, which meets the requirement of 1.6 times the safety factor. Special attention should be paid to the resistance deviation of the electric fusion fittings ≤10% during installation.


Implementation recommendations

  1. Material selection: Black PE100 compound must be used, and the carbon black content is strictly controlled at 2.0%-2.5%
  2. Dimension control: The out-of-roundness of the pipe is classified according to Table 4, such as dn315mm straight pipe ≤11.1mm
  3. System verification: Products from different manufacturers need to be tested for welding compatibility according to Chapter 6.5
