《GB/T 4669-2008纺织品 机织物 单位长度质量和单位面积质量的测定》由TC209（全国纺织品标准化技术委员会）归口，TC209SC1（全国纺织品标准化技术委员会基础标准分会）执行，主管部门为中国纺织工业联合会。
本标准使用重新起草法修改采用ISO 3801:1977《纺织品 机织物 单位长度质量和单位面积质量的测定》（英文版）。
本标准代替GB/T 4669-1995《机织物单位长度质量和单位面积质量的测定》。
本标准规定了纺织品机织物单位长度质量和单位面积质量的测定方法。
本标准适用于整段或一块机织物（包括弹性织物）的测定。
本标准与GB/T 4669-1995相比变化如下：
――规范性引用文件中增加了GB 9994；
――删除了“定义”；
――仪器中增加了对钢尺、剪刀和工作台规格的具体规定；
――对试验程序中方法1于方法4的顺序和内容作了编辑调整；
――方法1、2、3、4和5结果计算的修约改为“计算结果按照GB/T 8170的规定修约到个数位”；
――将“小样品的单位面积质量测定”改为方法5“小织物单位面积调湿质量的测定”，并修改了计算公式的表达形式；
――增加了方法6“小织物单位面积干燥质量和公定质量的测定”及相关仪器和结果计算；
――删除了附录A“常规测定方法”。

1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of mass per unit length and mass per unit area of woven fabrics.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the woven fabric (including elastic fabric) mass of complete pieces as well as of sample lengths.
