Scope
This part of GB/T 4857 specifies the 2-letter codes of major languages (including collective languages) in the world. The language codes in this section apply to terminology, lexicography and linguistics, and to any field of work (especially computer systems) that requires the representation of a language in the form of a 2-letter code.
