Scope

This specification is formulated to unify the technical requirements of canal anti-seepage engineering, improve construction quality and management level, and give full play to engineering benefits. This specification applies to the planning, design, construction, acceptance, testing and management of new, expanded or reconstructed anti-seepage projects for irrigation, power generation, water supply, sewage and other channels. Canal anti-seepage engineering should adhere to the principles of adapting measures to local conditions, economical rationality, durability, safety in use, and convenient management, actively adopt mature new technologies, new materials and new processes, and continuously improve the technical level of canal anti-seepage. Special research should be carried out on anti-seepage engineering of super-large channels. The planning, design, construction, acceptance, testing and management of canal anti-seepage engineering shall not only comply with this specification, but also comply with the relevant current national standards.
