Introduction
Core changes in the standard revision
| Dimensions | GB/T 510-1983 | GB/T 510-2018 |
|---|---|---|
| Scope of application | Unspecified biodiesel blending fuel | New restrictions on biodiesel blending fuel and automatic micro-determination instrument |
| Instrument configuration | Only manual measurement device is specified | Added technical requirements for automatic micro-condensation point tester |
| Coolant selection | Limited to traditional media such as industrial ethanol | Expanded to any liquid/material that can reach the test temperature |
Technical key points analysis
1. Optimization of measurement principle
Maintain the core principle of the 45° tilt observation method, but add the Automatic micro-determination instrument to realize the judgment of the condensation point through optical detection, and its temperature control accuracy reaches ±0.1℃, which is suitable for the rapid detection of diesel fractions without additives.
2. Sample processing specifications
Specify the processing process of water-containing samples: Water content ≤ standard limit can be tested directly, if it exceeds the limit, it needs to be filtered through anhydrous sodium sulfate (easy-flowing sample) or filtered through a salt layer after preheating at 50℃ (viscous sample).
Implementation Suggestions
1. Method Selection Strategy
- Arbitration Testing: Manual method must be used, and the result must be accurate to 1℃
- Conventional Testing: Diesel fractions should preferably use automatic micro-determination instrument, which can improve efficiency by more than 50%
2. Key Points of Quality Control
| Parameters | Manual method | Automatic method |
|---|---|---|
| Repeatability | ≤2℃ | ≤1.0℃ |
| Reproducibility | ≤4℃ | ≤2.4℃ |
Case: In the diesel pour point test of a refinery, the automatic method measured -15.2℃ and -15.8℃, with a difference of 0.6℃, which meets the repeatability requirement; but when the manual method measured -14℃, a ±2℃ verification test was required according to clause 9.1.7.
Background of Standard Evolution
With the popularization of biodiesel applications, the 2018 version of the standard will expand its scope of application to blended fuels. At the same time, in response to the trend of automated testing, the Automatic Micro-Amount Determination Instrument specification is introduced, but the method traceability is maintained through the clause of "arbitration is based on manual results".
