Scope

This standard applies to involute spline hobs with a pressure angle of 30° and a modulus from 0.5 to 10 mm and a pressure angle of 45° and a modulus from 0.25 to 2.50 mm. Hobs are divided into three precision grades: A, B, and C, and are used to process involutes that conform to GB3478.1-83 "Cylindrical straight tooth involute spline (tooth side fit) modulus, reference tooth shape, tolerance" spline shaft. This standard does not specify the D-level accuracy of the hob. If the user factory adopts the spline shaft with grade 7 (GB3478.1-83) precision, it can be processed with the hob of grade C of this standard. The tolerances specified in this standard are applicable to Type I and Type II whose basic dimensions conform to GB5104-85 "Basic Types and Dimensions of Involute Spline Hobs with 30° Pressure Angle" or Type I and Type II that comply with GB5105-85 "Involute with 45° Pressure Angle" Basic type and size of wire spline hob "standard hob. This standard refers to the adoption of ISO4468-1982 "Accuracy Requirements for Single-head Gear Hobs".
