Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of particle size distribution of metal powders - sedimentation balance method. This standard applies to metal powders that can be dispersed in liquid media, including refractory metal and alloy powders, such as tungsten, aluminum, copper, and iron powders. This standard is not suitable for flaky, fibrous and other powders with extremely irregular shapes; it is not suitable for powders containing lubricants or binders. This standard is also not suitable for mixed powders with serious agglomeration or different densities of components.
