Scope

This standard specifies the general test method for the determination of the mass percentage of pigment samples soluble in boiling water. This standard refers to the adoption of ISO787/3-1979 "General test methods for pigments and extenders - Part 3: Determination of water-soluble substances - Thermal extraction method". Note: When this general method is applicable to a specified pigment or extender pigment, as long as the terms referring to this method are included in the product standard of the pigment or extender pigment, and the changes required due to the characteristics of the product are indicated, only if this general method A dedicated method for the determination of water-soluble substances should only be specified when the method is not applicable to a particular product.
