GB/T 5585 Copper or aluminium and its alloy bus bars for electrical purposes consists of two parts:

— Part 1: Copper and copper alloy bus bars;

— Part 2: Aluminium and aluminium alloy bus bars.

This is Part 2 of GB/T 5585.

This part is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part replaces GB/T 5585.2-2005 Copper or aluminium and its alloy bus bars for electrical purposes — Part 2: Aluminium and aluminium alloy bus bars, and the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 5585.2-2005:

— updated some normative references (see Clause 2; Clause 2 of Edition 2005);

— specified the code and product representation method (see 4.1 and 4.2; 3.2 and 3.3 of Edition 2005);

— modified the chemical composition of aluminium and aluminium alloy bus bars (see 5.3; 4.3 of Edition 2005);

— added a note to "Table 2 Dimensions of aluminium and aluminium alloy bus bars” (see Table 2; Table 1 of Edition 2005);

— specified the expression of test classification (see 8.1; 7.1 of Edition 2005);

— modified the expression for marking (see 9.3, 8.3 of Edition 2005).

This part was proposed by the China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association.

This part is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Bare Wires of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 422).

The previous edition of standard replaced by this part is as follows:

— GB 5585.1-1985;
— GB 5585.3-1985;

1 Scope

This part of GB/T 5585 specifies the code, product representation method, technical requirements, test, delivery length and quality, acceptance rules, product certificate, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of the aluminium and its alloy bus bars for electrical purposes.

This part is applicable to the aluminium and its alloy bus bars for electrical purposes (also called aluminum and aluminum alloy row).

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2900.10 and the following apply.

dimensions of the bus, which is expressed by the nominal size a × b of the thickness and width of the bus bar section

maximum vertical distance of any point on a datum plane for which any plane of the bus is stationary on that

4 Code and product representation method

4.1 Code

Code classification of aluminium and aluminium alloy bus bars includes material type code and status code, as shown in Table 1.

4.2 Product representation method

4.2.1 The composition and arrangement order of product models are material type code and state code in turn.

4.2.2 The products shall be expressed by model, dimensions and standard number.



4.2.3 Examples of product representation are as follows:

Example: LMY 10 × 100 GB/T 5585.2-2018 represents that:

Aluminium bus bars, with 10.00 mm in thickness and 100.00 mm in width, hard state.

5 Technical Requirements

5.1 Cross-section shape of aluminium and aluminium alloy bus bars

5.2 Technical indexes of aluminium alloy bus bars

If there is no provision for the technical indexes of aluminium alloy bus bars, it shall be consistent with the provisions of aluminum bus bars.
