《GB/T 5972-2016起重机 钢丝绳 保养、维护、检验和报废》由TC227(全国起重机械标准化技术委员会)归口,主管部门为中国机械工业联合会。
Introduction
Analysis of the core content of the standard
This standard is equivalent to ISO 4309:2010 and is applicable to the full life cycle management of wire ropes for various types of cranes and electric hoists. Compared with the 2009 version, the main technical changes include: adding applicable clauses for offshore cranes, refining the scrapping criteria for multi-layer winding cross-areas, and introducing a comprehensive impact assessment method.
Key Data Comparison Table
| Inspection Items | Single-layer Winding Benchmark | Multi-layer Winding Benchmark | Measurement Method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Number of Visible Broken Wires | 6d Length≤9 30d Length≤18 | 6d Length≤10 30d Length≤20 | Magnetic Particle Inspection + Visual Inspection |
| Diameter Reduction | Fiber Core≥10% Steel Core≥7.5% | Not Applicable to Crossing Area | Orthogonal Bidirectional Measurement |
| Corrosion level | Surface roughness 60% Pit relaxation 100% | Appendix H spectrum comparison | |
Typical application case
22mm 6×36WS-IWRC wire rope was used in the port gantry crane for 12 months:
- 7 broken wires were found in the 6d length of the crossing area (reaching 70% of the scrap benchmark)
- The diameter was reduced from 22.6mm to 21.8mm (reduced by 3.6%)
- The comprehensive evaluation method in Appendix F was used to determine that it should be replaced within a time limit
Technology evolution analysis
The new standard highlights three major innovations:
- Introduction of the Wire Rope Category Number (RCN) system (Appendix G) to achieve digital management of structural characteristics
- Establishment of special scrapping criteria for cross-overlapping areas to solve the pain point of multi-layer winding
- Development of a comprehensive impact assessment method (Appendix F) to support multi-factor coupling state determination
Implementation Recommendations
Enterprises should establish a three-level management system:
| Level | Frequency | Key points |
|---|---|---|
| Daily inspection | Every shift | Connection parts + visible broken wires |
| Regular inspection | 1-3 months | Full length + diameter measurement |
| Special evaluation | After the accident | Internal corrosion + non-destructive testing |
It is recommended to use electromagnetic detectors and wire rope lubrication automatic systems to improve inspection accuracy.
