《GB/T 8162-2008结构用无缝钢管》由TC183（全国钢标准化技术委员会）归口，TC183SC1（全国钢标准化技术委员会钢管分会）执行，主管部门为中国钢铁工业协会。
本标准与EN 10297-1:2003《用于机械和一般工程用途的无缝钢管交货技术条件》的一致性程度为非等效。
本标准代替GB/T 8162-1999《结构用无缝钢管》。
本标准规定了结构用无缝钢管的订货内容、尺寸、外形、重量、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志和质量证明书。
本标准适用于机械结构、一般工程结构用无缝钢管。
本标准与GB/T 8162-1999相比，主要变化如下：
―――增加了订货内容；
―――修改了尺寸允许偏差；
―――增加了全长弯曲度要求；
―――增加了端头切斜要求；
―――取消了标记示例；
―――增加了钢牌号；
―――取消了扩口试验要求；
―――增加了无损检验协商条款。
