Scope

In the method specified in this part of GB/T 8943, certain dangerous chemicals need to be used, which can form explosive gas with air, so care must be taken to ensure compliance with relevant safety precautions. This part of GB/T 8943 specifies two methods, namely EDTA complexometric titration (method A) and flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (method B), to determine the content of calcium and magnesium in paper, cardboard and pulp. Flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (Method B) should be used. When the content of calcium and magnesium in paper, cardboard and pulp is greater than 200mg/kg, EDTA complexometric titration (method A) can be used. This section applies to the determination of calcium and magnesium content in various paper, cardboard and pulp.
