1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and designation, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packing, storage and transportation for gypsum plasterboard.
This standard is applicable to gypsum plasterboard intended to be used as non-bearing internal partition wall and suspended ceiling in buildings, as well as to base board for gypsum plasterboard finishes subjected to secondary finish processing.

Paper covered longitudinal sides

Cut sides transverse to the edges

Face
The surface on which the paper extends continuously to cover the edges

Back
The surface having a double thickness of paper along the two edges

Face paper
Paper on the board face

Paper on the board back

Core material
Paper-covered material, mainly made from dihydrate gypsum

Length
Dimension of the board parallel to the edges

Width
Dimension of the board perpendicular to the edges

Thickness
Vertical distance between the face and the back of board

Gypsum plaster
Powdery cementing material as specified in GB/T 9776
