《GB/T 983-2012不锈钢焊条》由TC55(全国焊接标准化技术委员会)归口,主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。

1 Scope

This Standard specifies requirements for classification and type, technical specifications, test methods, inspection rules, packing, marking and quality certificate of covered electrodes for stainless steels.
This Standard is applicable to the covered electrodes for stainless steels with a chromium content of deposited metal greater than 11%.

3 Type

3.1 Classification of types
Electrode types shall be classified according to the chemical composition of deposited metal, welding position and type of electrode covering. For the brief description of type of electrode covering, see Appendix A. For the type comparison between different standards, see Appendix B.
3.2 Type-compiling method
Electrode type is composed of the following four parts:
a) Part 1: covered electrode is expressed as letter "E";
b) Part 2: chemical composition classification of deposited metal is expressed as the digitals behind the letter "E"; letter "L" behind the digitals indicates low carbon content; letter "H" indicates high carbon content. For the chemical composition with other special purpose, such chemical composition can be expressed as symbol of element (put behind), see Table 1.
c) Part 3: welding position is expressed as the first digit behind short dash "-", see Table 2;
d) Part 4: the type of electrode covering and current can be expressed as the last digit, see Table 3.
3.3 Type example
The demonstration of a complete electrode type in this Standard is shown as follows:
