Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

Grading dimensions Special grade (Agarwood) Grade A Grade B Grade C
Volatile oil content ≥6ml/100g ≥5ml/100g ≥3ml/100g ≥1ml/100g
Air-dry density ≥1.1g/cm³ ≥1.1g/cm³ ≥1g/cm³ ≥0.5g/cm³
Fragrance characteristics Compound fragrance Single obvious fragrance Light frankincense Basically no fragrance

Detailed explanation of key technical indicators

Special incense burners must meet the following requirements: temperature control accuracy ±5℃ (50-200℃), heating surface diameter ≥25mm. Differentiated temperature ranges must be set according to grades during testing:

  • Special grade: 70-110℃
  • Grade A: 80-120℃
  • Grade B: 80-140℃
  • Grade C: 100-150℃

Implementation and application suggestions

Qualification requirements for inspectors

More than 3 years of experience in testing agarwood must be avoided. Smoking and drinking are prohibited 1 hour before testing, and the use of odorous cosmetics is prohibited. It is recommended to establish:

  1. Standardized sensory evaluation room (≤30㎡)
  2. Five-level review mechanism (3+2 voting system)
  3. Dynamic calibration system (monthly aroma standard sample comparison)

Standard evolution analysis

This standard establishes the quality evaluation system for fragrances from vines of the genus Dalbergia in the Leguminosae family for the first time, and innovatively proposes:

  • Classification of aroma morphology (Agarwood/Golden Armor/Soft and Hard Oil)
  • Classification of formation process (buried in soil/sunken in water/inverted frame/living body)
  • Quantitative grading indicators (volatile oil + density dual parameters)
