Introduction
SM9 Identification Cryptographic Algorithm Parameter Definition Overview
GM/T 0044.5-2016 standard specifies the core parameters of the SM9 identification cryptographic algorithm, including the definition of the 256-bit BN curve, system parameters and algorithm examples. This standard is the basic specification for the implementation of the SM9 algorithm and is applicable to cryptographic module verification and algorithm correctness verification.
Core System Parameters
| Parameter Type | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Elliptic Curve Equation | y² = x³ + b | Use 256-bit BN Curve |
| Base Field Characteristic q | B640000002A3A6F1...E351457D | 256-bit prime field |
| Embedding Times k | 12 | Bilinear Pairing Parameter |
Key curve parameters
The standard clearly defines the generators of the groups G₁ and G₂:
- G₁ generator P₁: (x=93DE051D..., y=21FE8DDA...)
- G₂ generator P₂: extended domain coordinates (x,y), consisting of two 256-bit components
The bilinear pairing identifier eid is fixed to 0x04 to ensure the uniqueness of the algorithm implementation.
Algorithm Implementation Verification
The standard appendix provides a complete algorithm example:
- Digital Signature Example: Includes the entire process of signature generation and verification
- Key Exchange Protocol: Demonstrates the session key negotiation process
- Key Encapsulation Mechanism: Demonstrates the protection method of data encryption keys
Implementation Recommendations
1. Parameter Verification: Curve parameters must be strictly verified during implementation to prevent invalid point attacks
2. Performance Optimization: It is recommended to pre-calculate the bilinear pairing mapping table to improve computing efficiency
3. Secure Storage: The master private key must be protected by secure hardware such as HSM
