Introduction
Core changes in the standard revision
| Technical dimension | GY 65-1989 | GY 65-2010 | Upgrade points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tolerance control | Basic tolerance system | 12 new tolerance indicators | Steel plate cutting slope tolerance is refined into 3 levels |
| Welding specification | Refer to industry practice | Align with GB 50205-2001 | Add welding procedure qualification requirements |
| Inspection items | 23 items | 42 items | 19 new tests including ultrasonic flaw detection |
Key manufacturing technology requirements
Material control specifications
Article 4.1 of the standard clearly requires that Z-direction performance steel plates with a thickness of ≥40mm must be re-inspected, and imported steel materials must provide a chemical composition analysis report. In actual applications, a 380-meter TV tower project used Japanese SN490B steel, and an additional -40℃ low-temperature impact test was added.
Welding quality control
According to Article 4.11.5, the main welds of the radio and television transmission tower must meet the following requirements:
- 100% ultrasonic testing for first-level welds
- 20% random inspection ratio for second-level welds
- Dimension deviation of fillet weld leg ≤0~3mm
Project implementation suggestions
Manufacturing process control
- Establish a material traceability system to record the furnace batch number and use location of each batch of steel
- Use a three-coordinate measuring instrument to review the flange flatness
- Welding environment monitoring must meet the following requirements: temperature>5℃, humidity<90%, wind speed≤level 4
Key points for quality acceptance
| Key indicators | Allowance deviation | Detection tools |
|---|---|---|
| Roundness of steel pipe | ≤d/500 and ±5mm | Electronic calliper |
| Flange bolt hole distance | ±0.7mm | Image measuring instrument |
| Galvanized layer adhesion | No falling off by hammering | Standard test hammer |
Technical development background
This standard revision responds to three major industry needs:
- Adapt to the development of super-high-rise tower mast structures (such as 600m+ TV towers)
- Interface with international welding standards (ISO 3834 system)
- Solve the problem of coastal corrosion protection (new GY 64 supporting standards)
