Scope

This standard specifies the test equipment, specimens and preparation, test procedures and treatment of test results for determining the plane strain fracture toughness of metallic materials. This standard is applicable to three-point bending SE (B), compact tensile C (T), C-shaped tensile A (T) and A round compact tensile DC (T) specimen is used to determine the Kic value of the plane strain fracture toughness of metal materials. When Kic cannot be obtained due to insufficient sample size, the sample strength ratio Rsx value can also be calculated according to the provisions of this standard.
