Scope

This standard specifies the test equipment and instruments, test methods, test conditions and evaluation of test results for the determination of oxidation resistance of aviation steel, high-temperature alloys and high-temperature protective coatings. This standard is applicable to the determination of the oxidation resistance of aviation steel, high-temperature alloys and high-temperature protective coatings. It can also be used for comparative tests of the oxidation resistance of high-temperature alloys and various high-temperature protective coatings. The determination of the oxidation resistance of titanium alloys can also be carried out with reference to this standard.
