Scope

This standard is applicable to the magnetic particle testing-rubber casting method (hereinafter referred to as MT-RC) for detecting surface defects of ferromagnetic material parts or component hole walls. The detectable aperture range is not less than 3 mm. For example, during aircraft maintenance and fatigue testing, it can be used to detect fatigue cracks in the walls of main beam bolt holes and ear holes, and can monitor the expansion of fatigue cracks. This method can also be used for magnetic mark copying under normal circumstances.
