Scope

This standard specifies methods for measuring the sound absorption coefficient of aviation materials, cabin walls or decorative panels in a reverberation chamber, as well as measuring the sound absorption of seats, people, and space sound absorbers. This standard is suitable for measuring the sound absorption coefficient sound quantity of materials, components, and space sound absorbers in a reverberation chamber, but it is not suitable for measuring the sound absorption characteristics of weakly damped resonators.
