Scope

This standard specifies the structural dimensions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of Shore A type rubber hardness tester (hereinafter referred to as the hardness tester). This standard is applicable to durometers for measuring the hardness of vulcanized rubber, plastics and thermoplastic elastomers.
