Scope

Important note: The strong acids and alkalis used in this standard are corrosive, so care should be taken when using them. If splashed on body, rinse with plenty of water. This standard specifies the method for the determination of ferrous sulfide content in fouling and corrosion products in industrial circulating cooling water. This standard is applicable to the determination of ferrous sulfide content in fouling and corrosion products in circulating cooling water. The ferrous sulfide content reflects the corrosion of the steel surface in the system by anaerobic sulfate-reducing bacteria.
