Scope

The strong acids and alkalis used in this standard are corrosive, so avoid inhalation or skin contact when using them. If it splashes on your body, wash it immediately with plenty of water. If serious, seek medical advice immediately. This standard specifies the method for the determination of silicates (measured as SiO2) in scale and corrosion products in industrial circulating cooling water. This standard is applicable to the determination of fouling and corrosion products in industrial circulating cooling water systems.
