Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of tensile testing methods for bonded samples of plastic pipes used in the chemical industry, testing machines, sample preparation, test methods and test reports. This standard applies to polyvinyl chloride (PVC, including chlorinated polyvinyl chloride PVC-C, rigid polyvinyl chloride PVC-U, soft polyvinyl chloride PVC-R) and propylene that use solvent-based adhesive bonding processes. Nitrile/butadiene/styrene plastic (ABS), polyamide (PA) and other thermoplastic pipe samples.
