Key Data Processing Rules

Special Project Calculation Case: In marine microbial testing, fecal coliform data are required to be calculated using the geometric mean, while chlorophyll a determination value uses the arithmetic mean. In a certain monitoring, the data obtained from three points were 1200, 1800, and 2400 CFU/100mL, and the geometric mean calculation result was 1729 CFU/100mL.

Implementation suggestions

Establish a LIMS system to achieve full-process information traceability required by Article 4.1
Develop a dedicated calculation module for special pH calculation scenarios (when the difference is greater than 2)
Complete the integrity check of the 6 types of reports in Appendix A before submitting data

Technology evolution analysis

This revision integrates the data processing requirements scattered in multiple appendices of the 2008 version into a systematic technical system, especially the 13 audit points proposed in Article 5.3, which reflects the transformation of ecological environmental monitoring from "results-oriented" to "process control".
