Scope
This standard specifies the silver diethyldithiocarbamate spectrophotometric method for the determination of arsenic and its compounds present in the form of particulate matter in air and exhaust gases. This standard is applicable to the determination of arsenic and its compounds existing in the form of particulate matter in air and exhaust gas. When the filter cartridge or filter membrane is prepared into a 50ml sample in this method, the detection limit is 0.35μg/50ml (calculated as As). For organized exhaust gas emissions, when 400L of gas is collected, the detection limit is 0.9 μg/m, and the lower limit of determination is 3.5 μg/m (both calculated as As). For air samples, when collecting 6m gas, the detection limit is 0.06μg/m, and the lower limit of determination is 0.24μg/m (both calculated as As).
