Scope

This standard specifies a headspace/gas chromatographic method for the determination of methanol and acetone in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of methanol and acetone in surface water, groundwater, industrial wastewater, domestic sewage and seawater. When the sampling volume is 10 ml, the method detection limit of methanol is 0.2 mg/L and the lower determination limit is 0.8 mg/L; the method detection limit of acetone is 0.02 mg/L and the lower determination limit is 0.08 mg/L.
